Led by Accutech Engineering as the prime consultant, the Sanikiluaq Hamlet Office is a new public building for the Hamlet of Sanikiluaq. The building includes two office wings one for the Government of Nunavut and the other for the Hamlet of Sanikiluaq. Between the two office wings is a public lobby, lounge, reception and council chambers. The building’s most prominent design feature is the council chamber that faces North in the direction of the ocean. The council chamber is highlighted with a curved wall that is inspired by the shape of the Kudlik; a traditional Inuit oil lamp.
