Riverwood Church Historic Firehall Conversion
The scope of work included a complex building code review. As a historic building, the project had many existing non-conforming conditions that needed to be accounted for. The design development included meetings with the city to identify ways to make the building meet the intent of the current building code. A fire protection engineer was engaged to achieve an alternative code solution. Renovations included the reconfiguration of second and third-floor office spaces, cosmetic upgrades, and retrofit of the floor-to-floor separations to meet the current code.
The development of this building was recognized with a Winnipeg Heritage Award.
